You do not need a trainer, a gym membership, or two free hours. You need a ball, a wall, and twenty focused minutes. This is the exact circuit our skills staff runs with varsity guards every week — steal it for your driveway.
The seven
1. Pound dribbles. Thirty seconds each hand, as hard as you can, eyes up. If the neighbors can't hear it, it doesn't count. 2. Wall passing. One hundred chest passes off a wall, stepping into each one — ten makes with each hand to finish. 3. Mikan drill. Two minutes of alternating layups; varsity standard is forty makes. 4. Form shooting. Twenty-five makes from three feet, one hand, perfect arc. 5. Chair attack. Dribble at a chair, one escape move, pull-up jumper — five makes each side. 6. Free throws in pairs. Shoot two, sprint to half-court and back if you split them. 7. Three-spot shooting. Five makes from each elbow and the top, on the move, game-speed footwork.
Scale everything to your level: rookies cut every number in half and walk before they run the footwork. The only non-negotiable is the standard — every rep at game speed, every miss chased with intent.
Run this circuit five days a week for a month and film day one versus day thirty. That video is the reason our coaches smile when someone asks whether drills really work.
